Boker Boxer Damascus Folding Knife

The Boker Boxer, designed by Raphaël Durand from Thiers, is a classic two-handed knife that is extremely popular. In this particularly noble version, the traditional pocket knife is equipped with a dark blade of Dragonskin damascus by Bertie Rietveld, which is hardened to 58 HRC. The South African custom knifemaker is considered the country’s first damascus smith and has been forging high-performance damascus with unusual patterns since 1991. The blade is locked by a sturdy backlock and has a generous ricasso. The decorative stainless steel bolsters bear the groove typical of Raphaël Durand. The handle scales are made of polished red burlap micarta and are very comfortable to hold. The handy size is the perfect compromise between pocket suitability and versatility in use. The history of Boker can be traced back to the 17^th century. In the 1800’s the German tool maker was producing swords and other blades for use in the various wars that were going on in Europe at the time. In the1860’s the company had split with part of the family emigrating and setting up factories in America. The German and American factories produced similar products.  Both used the “Tree Brand” logo. The “Tree Brand” logo represents the giant chestnut tree that was at the front of the original Boker factory in Remscheid, Germany in the 17^th century.
