The design of the traditional Boker Bowie was based on original drafts from the early 19th century and equipped with an extremely stable 6.4mm thick blade made from N690. The name of the knife goes back to James “Jim” Bowie, the famous pioneer and soldier who is revered as a hero of the Wild West. Contrary to the widely copied Sheffield Bowie, the variations of this outdoor knife resemble the early American Bowie with its s-shaped stainless steel crossguard sporting a finely satinised surface. The exquisite scales of domestic oak lend the Boker Bowie even more authenticity. Comes with a quality Western leather sheath in black, design based on the original.

The history of Boker can be traced back to the 17th century. In the 1800’s the German tool maker was producing swords and other blades for use in the various wars that were going on in Europe at the time. In the1860’s the company had split with part of the family emigrating and setting up factories in America. The German and American factories produced similar products. Both used the “Tree Brand” logo. The “Tree Brand” logo represents the giant chestnut tree that was at the front of the original Boker factory in Remscheid, Germany in the 17th century.
